Last Payment of Income Tax Refund 2023
The year 2023 is coming to an end, and with it, the payment cycle for the 2023 Personal Income Tax Refund (IRPF) also comes to an end. The 5th and final batch of refunds is about to be released, and here you will find all the information you need to follow this process.
Important Dates
The Federal Revenue Service has scheduled the consultation of the 5th batch of refunds for September 22. This means that, from that date, taxpayers will be able to check if they are on the list of those who will receive the refund. Payment will be made on September 29.
Who Gets It First?
The payment order follows priority criteria, prioritizing the following groups:
- Elderly people aged 80 and over.
- Elderly people over 60 years of age.
- Taxpayers who have a physical or mental disability or who have suffered a serious illness.
- Those who have their only source of income from teaching.
- Those who opted for the pre-filled declaration.
- Taxpayers who chose to receive via PIX.
How to Check Your Refund
To check if you are on the list of those who have been selected, simply access the Federal Revenue website and follow these steps:
- Click on “My Income Tax.”
- Then choose “Check Refund.”
You can make a simplified or complete query of the declaration status through the processing extract, accessed in e-CAC.
What to Do If You're on the List?
If you are on the list of beneficiaries but for some reason do not receive the credit, you can reschedule the payment through the BB Portal or the BB Relationship Center. The telephone numbers for this service are: 4004-0001 (capital cities), 0800-729-0001 (other locations) and 0800-729-0088 (special telephone number exclusively for the hearing impaired).
If the credit is not made due to issues such as the account being deactivated, the amounts will be available for withdrawal for up to one year at Banco do Brasil.
New: Payment via PIX
One of the main new features of the 2023 Income Tax return is the possibility of receiving your refund via PIX. Simply provide your PIX code when submitting your return. The PIX key accepted for payment of the refund is the one formed with the CPF number, ensuring greater security for the taxpayer.
Conclusion
The 5th batch of Income Tax Refunds for 2023 is the last opportunity for many taxpayers to receive amounts owed by the government. Be sure to check if you are on the list as of September 22nd and, if you are eligible, monitor your payment closely. Remember the priorities established by the IRS and the option to receive via PIX, an additional convenience for taxpayers. Income Tax is an essential part of personal finances and being informed about its process is essential to ensure that you receive what is rightfully yours.
